Stephen Edward Gladstone

(1844–1920)

The Rev. Stephen Edward Gladstone was born and christened at St. Martin in the Fields, Westminster on 1st May 1844. He was educated at Eton and Christ Church College, Oxford.  He was ordained in the Church of England and he became Rector of Hawarden in 1872. and Rural Dean of Mold in 1884. 

He married Ann Crosthwaite, daughter of Charles Wilson, a surgeon, at Christ Church, Liverpool, in 1885 and they had four sons and two daughters. In 1904 he became Rector of Barrowby, Lincolnshire. In 1911 he is recorded as living at the Rectory, Barrowby, with his daughter Catherine. 

Stephen died at Manley Hall, Chester in 1920 aged 76.
